Dad used to take Marcia to fireside and other speaking engagements with him in his Seminary and Institute days. If she would get emotional then or other times, she says he would quote this poem to her.

If you can laugh at cares and woes and trouble makes you fatter....
If you can keep a cheerful face when all around are blue....
Then have your head examined bud, there's something wrong with you!
For one thing I've arrived at...
There are no ands and buts...
The guy who's smiling all the time....
Has gone completely nuts!!!!"
